WaveSmith FAQ

Is WaveSmith free?

Yes. The Windows installer is free. No trial clock, no watermark on the file you save.

Does my audio leave this computer?

Editing is local. Convert and YouTube import run tools inside your user folder. This website only serves pages and the installer.

Windows only?

WaveSmith 1.1 is a 64-bit Windows app (Windows 10 and 11). That is the product.

Is YouTube import legal?

Only import links you have the right to use. WaveSmith does not bypass paid access or give you someone else’s catalog. You are responsible for the URL you paste.

Do I need an account?

No. Install, open a file, save. Language and window size remember on this PC.

What is the difference versus a DAW?

A DAW arranges songs on a timeline. WaveSmith is a waveform workstation: one file (or a few tabs), surgical edits, convert, deliver. Faster when the job is the file.

Can WaveSmith record audio?

Yes. Tools → Record (Ctrl+Shift+R) captures the microphone, system loopback, or both. The take opens on the same waveform as any other file.

Does it include a YouTube to MP3 converter?

File → Import from YouTube. Paste a link you have the right to use. yt-dlp runs on this PC; we do not see the URL. Then trim and export like any MP3.

Does the audio editor include effects and an MP3 cutter?

Yes. Cut, copy, paste, and trim on the waveform. Effects holds EQ, compressor, fade, pitch, reverb. Process holds noise reduction and LUFS.

Install it. Open a file. Feel the difference.
